Key Facts about Dr Masouri

Dr Sofia Masouri entered the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1998 and graduated in 2004 with merit, working as part of her license and degree obligations at the rural practice of Batsi in Andros Island from 2005 to 2007.  In 2008 and for two years she began her specialisation on pathology at the Fleming General Hospital in Athens.

Subsequently, in 2010 she was recruited as an Academic Resident by the A’ University Clinic of Andreas Syngros hospital (hospital that specialises in venereal and skin conditions) where she led many research programmes. More specifically, she participated as sub investigator in various psoriasis projects, developing protocols from phase 2 to phase 4 and participated in basic research as investigator to ascertain reliability (genetic and pharmacogenetic patterns) in research projects regarding psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. 

Parallel to her role as an academic residence, Dr Masouri concluded her PhD thesis title ‘Clinical features, comorbidity, Psoriasis - Type I and type II: Similarities, differences and relationship to histocompatibility antigens and Gene polymorphisms’ with distinction and was awarded the title and the role of ‘Professor’ by the University of Athens. 

In the next phase of her career and between 2014 and 2017, she concluded her specialisation on Dermatology – Venereology with distinction (at A University Clinic of Andreas Syngros hospital) having practiced on all areas of clinical dermatology, dermatologic surgery and paediatric dermatology.

Dr Masouri is licensed to offer her services in Greece and Cyprus and welcomes patients from GeSY (National Health System of Cyprus).

In 2017 she was awarded a scholarship by the Andreas Syngros hospital and was trained for 3 months on Medical Aesthetic Services at the renown Victoria Park Clinic at Montreal in Canada, practicing with innovative laser therapies, injectables and body sculpture techniques.

Since 2017, Dr Masouri has offered her expert advice as Medical Advisor regarding the application of biologic therapies in psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa and atopic dermatitis whilst offering her medical services regarding the entire spectrum of dermatology and venereology as well as medical aesthetic services (including CO2 laser treatments, fractional laser treatments, peelings, HIFU and Ellypse rejuvenation treatments, Botox & Dysport, hyaluronic acid injections and mesotherapies) at Dermoiatriki Athinon in Athens.

Dr Masouri has a rich portfolio of publications in national and international journals on own research and participation at national, regional and international conferences.
